[Interview] ZAGO Sweden: Advancing eCommerce, One Shopify Store At A Time

Our operations are supported by commissions earned from affiliates. Details.

Numbers don't lie: 100.000+ Shopify merchants worldwide, 4.9/5 rating from over 5300+ paying customers, PageFly is cementing its popularity as Shopify’s Leading Page Builder and Store design app.

That being said, this feat is no one-man act. We could not get to where we are today, or go any further without building close-knit relationships with Shopify experts. PageFly and our partnering Shopify experts have been bridging the gap between the impossible and the possible, contributing our expertise, resources and knowledge to a singular goal: Making ecommerce easier and accessible to everyone.

Siding with us since day one is ZAGO Sweden - #1 Shopify Expert in Sweden. As a next-gen digital agency with buring passion for eCommerce, ZAGO has helped 2000+ companies make their dream stores. And today, I got the privilege to interview Shayan and bring their inspiring story to you. As you might wonder how an agency like ZAGO Sweden can help users utilize PageFly to build their websites in a quick but professional way, let’s move on!

Q: Can you tell me about yourself and your personal interests?

A: I am Shayan, a Project Manager at ZAGO and an e-commerce expert with a passion for all things tech. I was born in Lahore, a city known for its rich culture and lively atmosphere. As a child, I grew up in the Emirates and then moved to the UK for my higher education. I am not much of an outgoing person, but I enjoy socializing with friends in a coffee shop occasionally. I’m a huge technology geek, and an avid reader of blogs and articles, which helps me expand my knowledge within my industry.

Outside of work, you can find me spending time with my two wonderful kids. Together we have quite fun banging out some video games after work. As an early riser on weekends, I take the opportunity to stroll around the park for some fresh air, and if it’s nice out, and I am in a mood for a casual weekend brunch, maybe pick up some traditional desi (local) breakfast at one of the food stalls in my neighborhood. I am also a big cricket fan and love watching the sport. It’s a great way for me to relax after a long day of working on the computer.

Q: How did you start your eCommerce journey and your agency as well?

A: ZAGO Sweden started around 8 years ago as a web development company using different platforms, and we began to increasingly focus on Shopify because of all the possibilities we found so useful for the merchants. We’ve been Shopify Experts since 2014 and have been expanding and growing since then. We now help merchants on Shopify and Shopify Plus to improve and grow their business, partnering with the best teams in the industry to offer the right option for each e-commerce business.

Q: How many members are there in your team?

A: We are now 27 people in the team from different backgrounds and specializations. Our main office is located in Sweden, but we have team members from different countries in Europe, Asia, and America, so we are able to work together with merchants all over the world. We are happy to have built a high-performance team conformed by developers, marketing specialists, and project management experts, all with a well-rounded understanding of the Shopify ecosystem as well as digital and e-commerce needs in general.

Q: What services do you offer with Shopify?

A: From development to marketing, we try to really get to know each business and their needs, and help them to reach their goals.

We are a full-service agency, we’ve been helping Shopify and Shopify Plus merchants with their store setup & migration to Shopify, theme design and customization, custom coding for advanced functionality, any integration with third-party systems, fixing issues, and optimizing their e-commerce site. SEO, digital marketing & branding, connecting their Shopify store with additional sales channels, and managing Google and Facebook sales channels and other social media platforms.

Q: What do you believe makes you different from your competitors?

A: ZAGO Sweden is an e-commerce agency with over 4000 successful projects in our portfolio of stunning, highly functional websites.

ZAGO works

We believe in the future of e-commerce and work towards empowering businesses with our wide range of services. We positioned ourselves as a dynamic e-commerce partner where we can help build your next e-commerce stores but also help with growing the business too. We are a well-integrated team with diverse backgrounds and specializations who work together to bring out the best of each project we encounter and we always aim for the satisfaction of our clients with high-quality results.

Q: What’s your daily job and what’s your favorite part about it?

A: As an eCommerce Project Manager, I love getting to know the clients from different parts of the world and helping them bring their business goals to life by figuring out their business and what they need, and then working hard to make sure their project is delivered and operates as expected. My core responsibilities include keeping the project plan on schedule, collaborating with clients and managing a team dedicated to delivering web solutions. In my office, you can usually find me with a cup of steaming coffee close at hand where I am also supporting acquisition and lead gen efforts, updating site content, managing e-commerce functions and overseeing user flow/digital customer experience for our clients. The most rewarding part of my job is knowing how much joy we bring to our clients. When they see their project live and it’s exactly what they wanted, there’s nothing more satisfying than that. More importantly, I believe it’s my job to ensure they stay happy throughout the whole process, so they can keep working with us for years to come.

Q: Can you tell me about your customers, who are they and where did they come from?

A: We actually have all sorts of clients, from brand new projects aiming to kickstart their business and trying to get out there to connect with their target customers, to well-established high-end brands that need to improve their customer experience and expand. We have different options for each client. We work as well with different industries, being the most common ones: Clothing and fashion, Sports and recreation, Jewelry and accessories, Food products, and Pets products.

Our main office is located in Sweden and we have established as one of the main nordic Shopify agencies, so we have several clients based in the nordic area, but we also help merchants from all over the world.

Q: For those who want to join the Shopify Partner ecosystem, what would be your main advice?

A: First of all, do it. If you’re interested in joining the ecosystem either as a freelancer, agency, developer, or merchant, there’s room and opportunities for you to improve the industry, which is growing at a rapid pace and will continue to grow in the future.

Second piece of advice would be to start meeting some other partners and connect with them to work together. You can join the different events organized by Shopify and their partners, and also reach out to others directly. We ourselves are always interested in connecting with other partners, either app developers, and agencies.

And last but not least, keep educating yourself. Shopify and all digital knowledge is always evolving so you have to keep up with the latest trends and changes within the platform and the industry.

Q: How do you use PageFly for your clients?

A: Some of our clients need an easy way to edit their pages, so we can use PageFly to add, edit, remove elements from their site layout in a creative and freeway.

The PageFly app has several options to design and set up a high conversion page, and it integrates well with Shopify and other apps as well, so we have a lot of room to work with it. We are able to change the look and feel of any page they need, adding elements beyond Shopify's basic layout, and even the merchants themselves are able to change and tweak as they need in the future, which they really appreciate. This is the main reason we find what the merchants like about PageFly, the freedom they find to adapt their page as they go

Q: What was the challenge when getting started with PageFly and how did you solve it?

A: The main challenges we found were encountering the extensive options they have and that we need all the team at ZAGO familiarized with all of them so we can really get the best out of the app and be able to help the merchants with it. But it was actually quite easy to get used to PageFly, since their support and partnership teams have followed along with us to train our members and resolve any questions we might have in the process, guiding and instruct us to gain knowledge in all the possibilities of the app and how can we successfully integrate it with any Shopify website.
