What you can ask Claude to do in your Shopify store
Five prompts you can paste as-is once PageFly is connected.
“Build me a Black Friday landing page for my three best-selling products. Use my real product photos, start from a PageFly template, and show me a preview. Don't publish it.”
What you get
An unpublished page built section by section from your own photos, with a preview after each section.
“On my Gift Guide page, rewrite the hero headline to lead with the free-shipping threshold. Change nothing else.”
What you get
That one headline changed in place; your spacing, styles and product links stay as they were.
“Why is my product landing page converting badly? Read the page health scan and the CRO findings first.”
What you get
Your own scan results and conversion findings explained, not generic advice.
“My A/B test on the collection page finished. Which variant won, and what should I test next?”
What you get
The test result and a next test, in the same chat where you can act on it.
“Find a section template for a product comparison table, add it to the page, preview it, and publish when I say go.”
What you get
A template added where you want it, previewed in your live theme, published only on your word.
How Claude and ChatGPT connect to Shopify through PageFly
1
Connect once
Add PageFly from the Claude directory, or as an app in ChatGPT.
2
Approve one store
PageFly only touches the store you approve in your Shopify admin.
3
Ask, review, publish
Everything lands as a draft in PageFly. You publish when it looks right.
Set up in 2 minutes
You need PageFly installed on your store (any plan, Free included) and an account with your AI assistant.
- Open PageFly in the Claude directory and click Connect to Claude.
- Type your store name (just the handle, e.g. my-store), then approve access in your Shopify admin.
- Ask something small, like “List my PageFly pages”, to confirm it works.
Using Claude Code? It is one command.

Claude and Shopify: the complete guide to building pages with PageFly
What the PageFly connector for Claude is (and is not)
Merchants have started asking AI assistants to do the store work, not just describe it. PageFly, a Shopify page builder with 320+ page and section templates, a 4.9 rating on the Shopify App Store and the Built for Shopify badge, is listed in the Claude directory as a community connector. Connect it once and Claude can open the PageFly pages on your store, write new sections in PageFly's own element vocabulary, change sections that are already there element by element, preview everything inside your live theme, and publish when you say so.
Under the hood it is the PageFly MCP server. MCP (Model Context Protocol) is the open standard AI assistants use to reach outside systems, which is why the same connector also works in ChatGPT, Cursor, VS Code and Claude Code. It is the same shift that put storefronts inside AI conversations, covered in our guide to Shopify agentic commerce.
What it is not
It is not a chatbot bolted onto the PageFly editor, and it is not a code generator. Claude writes with real PageFly elements, so what you get is a PageFly page you can open and keep editing by hand, not exported markup you have to maintain.
Three details that make it safe to trust
- Edits cost no PageFly AI credits. Your assistant's own model writes the change; PageFly checks it, applies it and reports what landed.
- A refused change refuses the whole set. If one instruction in a batch can't be applied safely, nothing is applied, and Claude is told why. You never get half an edit.
- Your own saves win. If you saved the page in the PageFly editor after Claude read it, Claude's write is refused instead of overwriting your work. Claude re-reads and tries again.
5 things you can ask Claude to do in your Shopify store
Each prompt below works as-is once the connector is on. Open “Behind the scenes” to see what PageFly runs for it.
1. Build a Black Friday landing page from three products
“Build me a Black Friday landing page for my three best-selling products. Use my real product photos, start from a PageFly template, and show me a preview. Don't publish it.”
What you get: an unpublished PageFly page assembled section by section (up to 10), using your own uploaded media and product photos, with a preview link after each section so you can redirect mid-build.
Behind the scenes
What runs: get_page_authoring_guide, search_templates, list_shop_media, create_page, add_section, preview_page.
2. Change one headline on a page you built yourself
“On my Gift Guide page, rewrite the hero headline to lead with the free-shipping threshold. Change nothing else.”
What you get: that headline changed in place on a page Claude never touched before. Claude reads the real element tree and changes only the element you named; your spacing, styles and product links stay. Want the whole section replaced instead? Claude can do that too, or move, delete or rename.
Behind the scenes
What runs: get_page, get_section, apply_section_edit, preview_page.
3. Ask why a page is converting badly
“Why is my product landing page converting badly? Read the page health scan and the CRO findings first.”
What you get: the real findings from your store, from broken links and missing images to the conversion issues found by AI Page Checkup. If you haven't run a scan yet, Claude says it has no data. Because it can also edit the page, “why is this weak” and “fix it” become one conversation.
Behind the scenes
What runs: get_page, get_page_health, get_cro_findings.
4. Read an A/B test result and decide the next move
“My A/B test on the collection page finished. Which variant won, and what should I test next?”
What you get: the status and outcome of tests you ran with PageFly A/B testing, in the same chat where you can act on them. A finished test nobody reads cost you traffic for nothing.
Behind the scenes
What runs: get_ab_test_results.
5. Find a template, preview it, then publish
“Find a section template for a product comparison table, add it to the page, preview it, and publish when I say go.”
What you get: a search across PageFly's 320+ page and section templates, the section placed where you want it, a preview inside your live theme, and a storefront change only after you ask. Publishing uses your plan's live-page allowance, not AI credits.
Behind the scenes
What runs: search_templates, add_section, preview_page, publish_page.
How to connect Claude to Shopify through PageFly
Before you start: PageFly installed on the store (any current plan, Free included), a Claude account on any plan, and permission to approve an app connection in that store's Shopify admin.
- Find PageFly in the Claude directory. Search “pagefly” and open the PageFly listing.
- Read the listing, then connect. It shows who made the connector and every action it can take. Then choose Connect to Claude.
- Enter your store name. Just the handle: my-store for my-store.myshopify.com.
- Approve access in your Shopify admin. The permission step happens in your admin, not in Claude.
- Ask something small. “List my PageFly pages” is the fastest way to confirm the connection is live.
Two things to know. The approval link expires after 15 minutes, so if you walk away mid-setup, start again from your assistant. And in Claude Code it is a single command, then authenticate with /mcp.
Use ChatGPT, Cursor or VS Code with Shopify
The Claude directory listing is one way in, not the product. Underneath it is the PageFly MCP server. Any assistant that can add a remote MCP server with OAuth sign-in gets the same actions, the same one-store approval in your Shopify admin, and the same rule that nothing is published until you say so. You are choosing a chat window, not a different PageFly.
Connect PageFly to ChatGPT
ChatGPT adds custom apps through Developer mode, on Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise and Edu, in the browser. The Free plan and the mobile apps can't. On Plus and Pro, ChatGPT may only allow read actions; full build and publish access applies on Business, Enterprise and Edu.
- Settings → Apps → Advanced settings → turn on Developer mode.
- Settings → Apps → Create app. Name it PageFly, paste the connector URL and choose OAuth. If your account shows Plugins instead, use “Add custom MCP server”.
- Type your store name and approve the connection in your Shopify admin.
- Ask “List my PageFly pages” to confirm.
Cursor, VS Code and other MCP clients
Clients that support remote MCP servers with OAuth take the same connector URL. Add it as a server, then approve the connection in your Shopify admin. You can also copy the URL from PageFly → Preferences.
Assistant | How you add PageFly | What you need |
|---|---|---|
Claude | Claude directory → search pagefly → Connect to Claude | Any Claude plan (web, desktop or Claude Code) |
ChatGPT | Developer mode → Create app with the PageFly connector URL | Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise or Edu, in the browser |
Cursor, VS Code and others | Add the connector URL as a remote MCP server | Remote MCP support with OAuth sign-in |
On the PageFly side nothing changes between assistants: every current plan, Free included, gets the full connector, and publishing uses your plan's live-page allowance. Full guide.
From a landing-page idea to a live Shopify page
The five prompts above start with you already knowing what the page should say. Most campaigns don't. Here is the longer path, with the design settled before anything is built on your store.
1
Argue the angle out in Claude first. Ask for five angles for the campaign and which customer objection each one answers. The one that survives is your page.
2
Draw it before you build it. Hand the winning angle to Claude Design and ask for the page as a design, desktop and mobile side by side. You are looking for section order and hierarchy, not final pixels.
3
Turn the design into a section list. Ask Claude to read its design back as an ordered list of sections, one line each, naming the products and images in each. That list is your brief, and it is cheaper to correct than a built page.
4
Connect PageFly and hand over the list. Claude reads PageFly's authoring guide, finds a matching template, pulls your real product photos and adds the sections in order, all as real PageFly elements.
5
Open the preview and fix in place. Say what's wrong section by section (“make the price bigger in the offer band”) and the change lands on that section only.
6
Publish when you're ready. Rename the URL handle before you publish, not after, so you're not fixing links later.
Two honest limits: a page tops out at 10 sections, so a very long campaign page becomes two pages or a hand-finished one. And Claude reads your design to write a brief; it doesn't convert it pixel for pixel.
What Claude can and cannot touch in your store
An assistant that can change your live pages deserves a hard look at its permissions.
- One store, approved by you. Access is scoped to the single store you approve in your own Shopify admin.
- Nothing goes live by accident. New pages are unpublished and stay that way until you ask to publish.
- Deleting is permanent, so Claude asks first. There is no undo and no trash bin, and a deleted published page leaves your storefront.
- No customer data. No customer, order or payment data; checkout, discounts, inventory, admin settings, other apps and other stores are out of reach.
- Revocable at once. In PageFly, go to Preferences → Account → AI assistant connector and choose Disconnect all. Do that before uninstalling PageFly, not after.

The difference between them is where you are sitting, not what PageFly lets the assistant do. The Claude connector is the one that takes a brief in a chat window and comes back with a built page, on a store where you still hold the publish button.
