Last checked: 16 October 2026. Every store below was loaded live on that date, confirmed to be running on Shopify, and its theme name was read from the storefront itself.
A Shopify store example is a live online store built on Shopify that you can open, study and borrow ideas from: how it sets up the homepage, which theme it runs, and which apps it leans on. Most lists of "best Shopify stores" are copied from older lists, so a good share of the stores in them have moved off Shopify or gone offline. We re-checked our own list on 16 October 2026 and kept only the 20 stores that passed.
Key takeaways
- We re-checked 43 stores from our old list. 20 made the cut; the rest failed to load, no longer ran on Shopify, or had rebranded.
- 12 of the 20 run a named Shopify theme (Dawn, Motion, Symmetry, Pipeline and others). 8 run a custom theme built for the brand.
- 17 of the 20 load Klaviyo on the homepage, 14 load a reviews app, and 11 offer a buy-now-pay-later option.
- The homepage patterns that repeat: a shipping threshold in the announcement bar, one clear hero button, and proof points close to the top.
- You do not need a custom theme to look like these stores. 12 of the 20 run a named theme, two of them Dawn, Shopify's free theme.
How we checked each Shopify store
We opened each store's homepage in a desktop browser (1440 px wide, US English) on 16 October 2026 and recorded four things:
- Is it still on Shopify? We looked for the
Shopify.shopobject that every Shopify storefront exposes. If the store only returned an error or a non-Shopify site, it was dropped. - Which theme? We read the theme's schema name (the theme it was built from) from the same storefront object. A brand name such as "Colourpop" means a custom theme.
- Which apps load on the homepage? We searched the homepage HTML for well-known app scripts: reviews (Judge.me, Okendo, Yotpo, Stamped, Junip, Loox), email and SMS (Klaviyo, Attentive), payments (Afterpay, Klarna, Shop Pay), subscriptions (Recharge), upsells (Rebuy), support (Gorgias) and search (Boost).
- What is above the fold? The announcement bar, the hero message and the first button a shopper sees.

App detection only covers scripts on the homepage, so a store can use more apps than we list. If you want to run the same check on any store yourself, our Shopify theme detector guide walks through it.

Fashion and accessories store examples
1. Velasca
Velasca sells men's shoes made in Italy. The US storefront runs a custom theme, and the navigation is short and plain: New Arrivals, Shoes, Clothing, Accessories, Stores, Archive. Listing physical "Stores" in the main menu tells a first-time visitor the brand is real before they reach a product page. Stamped handles reviews and Klarna is available at checkout.
2. Petal & Pup
Petal & Pup runs the Stretch theme. The announcement bar carries one line, "Free shipping on orders over $80", and the hero on the day we checked was a 50% off fall sale. For a fashion store with many new arrivals, a big mega menu does the heavy lifting; ours counted over 400 links in the header. Yotpo reviews, Afterpay and Klarna all load on the homepage.
3. CULTURE
CULTURE sells hijabs, under scarves and prayer mats. Its custom theme keeps the menu focused on what the shopper is looking for, with Best Sellers first. The hero pairs one product photo with a short benefit line ("Softness that stays put") and two buttons. It is a good example of a niche store that does not need many apps: Judge.me was the only one we found on the homepage.
4. Nili Lotan
Nili Lotan runs Broadcast and shows how a luxury brand can run a named theme rather than a custom build. The hero is a single full-width photo with no copy on top. The only offer is in the announcement bar: "Save 10% with sign up", which is how the store collects emails without a pop-up blocking the photo.
5. Pierced
Pierced sells piercing jewelry and runs studios in Ontario. On the Motion theme, its first two buttons are "Book a piercing" and "Contact us", not "Shop now". That is the right call for a store where many visitors want an appointment. The announcement bar states the shipping threshold: free shipping over $80 to Canada and the US.

6. Beast Mode
Beast Mode sells athletic apparel on the Colorblock theme. The hero is a lifestyle photo carousel, and the header has a market selector (United States | USD) so international shoppers see the right currency before they browse. Shop Pay was the only app we detected.
7. VICI
VICI is a high-volume women's fashion store with a custom theme. Its homepage stacks offers: a sitewide percentage off, free standard shipping over a threshold, and a "Free $20 off at checkout" banner, followed by a full-width flash sale hero. Navigation starts with "The Daily Drop", which trains shoppers to come back for new stock.

Beauty and personal care store examples
8. ColourPop
ColourPop runs a custom theme and loads more marketing apps on its homepage than any other store in this list: Okendo and Yotpo for reviews, Klaviyo and Attentive for email and SMS, Klarna and Shop Pay at checkout, Gorgias for support and Boost for search. Its announcement bar rotates four messages: the current campaign, free US shipping over $35, free international shipping over $60, and pay in four.

9. Kylie Cosmetics
Kylie Cosmetics runs a custom theme. Its announcement bar promotes a gift with purchase (a free makeup pouch above a minimum order), and "Rewards" sits in the main navigation next to Best Sellers. Recharge on the homepage suggests subscription products are part of the range.
10. Josie Maran
Josie Maran's custom theme leads with one product story, a trunk gift set, and a single button. Rebuy loads on the homepage for product recommendations and Recharge for subscriptions, so repeat purchase is built into the store.
11. Wildsmith Skin
Wildsmith Skin is a UK skincare brand running Dawn, Shopify's free theme. The first thing a visitor sees is a store and region selector. It proves the point many merchants miss: a free theme plus good photography is enough for a premium look. Loox reviews and Boost search are layered on top. If you are starting fresh, Shopify's newer free theme family is covered in our Horizon theme review.
12. Beard & Blade
Beard & Blade sells men's grooming products in Australia on the Revone theme. Under the menu it shows a row of trust claims: same day dispatch, 300,000+ customers, Australian owned, est. 2007. That row does the job a long About page would, in one line.
13. Hismile
Hismile's custom theme puts the offer and the guarantee in the headline itself: whiter teeth in 7 days with the bundle, or your money back. The price and a single "Try the Whitening Protocol" button sit right under it. It is a direct-response layout that works well for one hero product.
Home, gifts and lifestyle store examples
14. John Robshaw
John Robshaw sells bedding and textiles on the Allure theme. The hero is seasonal ("Fall into duvet season") with one "Shop now" button, and the announcement bar says only "Free ground shipping". Keeping both short lets the photography sell the product.
15. Anecdote Candles
Anecdote Candles also runs Dawn. Its menu includes a "Matchmaker", a quiz that recommends a scent, which is a smart fix for a product people cannot smell online. Free domestic shipping over $50 sits in the announcement bar, and Recharge supports candle subscriptions.

16. Emma Bridgewater
Emma Bridgewater makes pottery in England and runs the Framework theme. The navigation is seasonal (Halloween and Christmas sit at the front in October) and includes "Personalised" and "Visit the Factory", two reasons to buy from the brand directly rather than a reseller.
17. Pura Vida
Pura Vida runs a custom theme and a large app stack: Judge.me, Klaviyo, Attentive, Rebuy, Recharge, Afterpay, Shop Pay and Boost. In mid-October its hero was already selling a holiday advent calendar on pre-order, a reminder that gift brands start Q4 early.

One-product and problem-solution store examples
18. Keyboardio
Keyboardio sells ergonomic keyboards on the Taste theme. The hero says who the product is for ("Keyboards for people who take typing seriously") and offers one button. One-product stores do not need a big menu; Keyboardio's header stays short.

19. Treepod
Treepod sells hanging tree tents on the Pipeline theme. The hero is a video ("A spacious hanging retreat") because a still photo cannot show how the product hangs and moves. No third-party apps loaded on the homepage, which keeps it light for a video-first page.
20. SwellNoMore
SwellNoMore sells a supplement on the Symmetry theme. Its hero lists the brand's proof points as checkmarks (doctor formulated, customer count, number of ingredients, made in the USA) next to a 60-day money-back badge. Whatever you think of the category, the layout shows how to answer "why trust this?" before the shopper scrolls.
Stores we removed from this list, and why
Our previous version listed 43 stores. On 16 October 2026:
- Did not load for us: Volant, Obachan, Bear Walker, Epic Watch Bands, Otobrush, Helen's Jewels and Yeezy Supply.
- No longer detected as Shopify, or blocked our check: Doughy, Greyston (now redirects to its foundation site), Backstrong, Amazing Lights, Cupshe, Inspire Uplift and KALIFANO.
- Changed: Diaboli Kill's domain now shows a different brand, and Margaux's storefront reported a staging theme name, so we left both out.
- Headless or custom front end: Harry's, Leesa and Simply Noted still load Shopify assets but do not expose a theme, which usually means a custom front end. They are worth a look, but you cannot copy their setup with a theme.
Stores change fast. Before you copy anything from a store example, open it yourself and check it is still live.

What these Shopify store examples have in common

Across the 20 stores, five patterns repeat:
- A shipping threshold in the announcement bar. Petal & Pup, ColourPop, Pierced, John Robshaw and Anecdote Candles all use the top bar for shipping, not for brand slogans.
- One main button in the hero. Keyboardio, John Robshaw, Hismile and Josie Maran each give the shopper one obvious next step.
- Proof close to the top. Beard & Blade's trust row and SwellNoMore's checkmarks answer "can I trust this store?" in the first screen. 14 of the 20 also load a reviews app.
- Email capture without blocking the page. 17 of 20 load Klaviyo. Nili Lotan puts its sign-up offer in the bar instead of a pop-up.
- Navigation that matches how people shop. Pierced leads with booking, Anecdote with a scent quiz, Emma Bridgewater with the season.

Collections matter too: our collection page examples show how stores like these organise large catalogs, and our storefront examples cover more layouts.
Build pages like these on your own Shopify theme
12 of these 20 stores run a named theme rather than a custom build, and two of them use Dawn, which is free. What makes them stand out is the page layout: the hero, the proof row, the offer and the order of sections. With PageFly you can build those sections on top of your current theme without code, starting from a PageFly template and adjusting it to your brand.
To see live stores that already do this, browse Shopify sites built with PageFly, then compare PageFly plans, including the free plan.
Best Shopify Stores Examples%20 FAQ
A Shopify store example is a live online store built on Shopify that you can open and study: its theme, homepage layout, offers and apps. In this list, every store was loaded on 16 October 2026 and confirmed to run on Shopify.
There is no single winner. Of the 20 stores we checked, 12 run a named theme (Dawn appears twice; Stretch, Revone, Broadcast, Allure, Motion, Symmetry, Taste, Pipeline, Framework and Colorblock once each) and 8 run a custom theme built for the brand.
Every Shopify storefront exposes a Shopify.theme object with the theme's name and the theme it was built from. You can read it in the browser console or use a theme detector. Custom and headless stores show a brand name or no theme at all.
On the homepages we checked, 17 of 20 stores load Klaviyo for email, 14 load a reviews app (Judge.me, Okendo, Yotpo, Stamped, Junip or Loox) and 11 offer Afterpay or Klarna. We only counted scripts on the homepage, so stores may use more apps elsewhere.
Start from a theme you can install, such as Dawn, then build the sections that make these stores work: a clear hero with one button, a proof row, and a shipping threshold in the announcement bar. PageFly lets you build those sections on your current theme without code, starting from a template.
